Electronic databases

Thanks to advances in technology, we can now store the references to our ever-expanding body of scientific literature in electronic databases and search them for answers to our clinical and research questions by using a combination of terms specifically designed for each database. Traditionally, countries with less money to spend on technology have been at a disadvantage – their journals are often not listed in the English databases, and they are unable to develop databases of their own. This is slowly starting to change. A subscription may be needed to search some of these databases.
